Continental La Coruña is a visionary office project designed  in 1997. Located in a former metal hardware warehouse in La Coruña, this space was transformed into the headquarters for the film production company Continental Producciones. The design draws inspiration from the concept of shipwreck traces, with the entire project developing three-dimensionally from this idea.

The office overlooks the sea, and the space is designed to adapt to the company’s needs. The floor design serves as a map of the sea, incorporating colored pigments and recycled materials such as broken glass, wood fragments, and oxidized slate—Galicia’s quintessential stone. Aluminum tape is used for joints, forming abstract, wave-like figures.

The lighting scheme features two inclined oxidized metal crosses with adjustable spotlights, inspired by a celestial map. This setup allows for both sufficient working light and a more theatrical ambiance, suitable for interior film shoots.

The design also includes colored bas-reliefs on concrete walls, resembling imaginary cartographies and allusions to flight and the ocean. These elements can be complemented by virtual images, such as slides or light textures from the outside.

Materials like marine plywood and oxidized iron are used throughout, and the space is highly adaptable. Except for fixed volumes like the bathroom and editing room, all other elements can be modified to suit the company’s evolving requirements
